Although it had some years , It was quite updated and made my trip more enjoyable. Use some internet for updating some info, in case you need it for planning.

Travel guides mention the large cities and restaurants, but this book mentions the interesting side trips with their true taste of Arkansas restaurants and lesser known sights to see. It made our trip very enjoyable.

We travel the back roads of America and never leave home without the "Off The Beaten Path" guides for the states we are traveling. The information is very good and the recomendations are "right on"! Don't leave home without it!

This book is not a self-help book, nor is it a book on philosophy. It explains how ordinary people who hope to actually accomplish some of their worthy resolutions to improved actions might succeed at that. The path is neither easy nor short, but the day-to-day changes that can be accomplished are backed up with centuries of success, and each step forward is a step in the right direction. Year after year I have resolved that the next year I will become a better person, and I sincerely desired to do so. Yet my progress is so slow that I sometimes wonder if I have made any progress at all.In Everyday Holiness the branch is held back so I can see the path away from my wandering and really move forward in small practical daily steps. Now moving forward is up to me, and the time-efficient methods developed in the 19th century make this the 21st century person's optimal approach. I will use this book not just as a beginning, but will read sections of it over and over. I hope that one day my newly-autographed copy will look like the well-worn map at the end of a wonderful trip. My trip will be different than the trip you take with the same map, but I believe it's the right map for many worthy and individualized trips.

This book improved my life and the lives of those around me. Even if you are not Jewish, this is a much better approach to improving your life than a thousand self help books because it takes the thinking of those sages who devoted their lives to character improvement and uses their words and ideas. For Jews who are unacquainted with the Mussar Movement, this is a welcome introduction.

This book really is helpful in translating Mussar to a language we can understand, and I recommend it as a primer. I am glad I read it. The problem with it is the author doesn't sufficiently interrogate his own point of view, and thereby makes assumptions the reader may not share - which possibly is not so much a problem as it is a pointer to a need for other books, other voices. If my first detailed exposure to Mussar had been a passage from this book, i am not likely to have pursued it. Instead, I came to this book via an article in Tablet Magazine by a rabbi named Regina Sandler-Phillips called "Red Light, Green Light: How Traffic Observance Dovetails With Ethical Choices," posted November 12, 2014. Morinis's vision of Mussar is one we want, but not in isolation.

Without question Everyday Holiness is one of the most inspiring books I've ever read. As I read each section, I took time to absorb it and put it to use in my life. As a Psychotherapist I can say they knew what they were saying 5000 years ago it is as applicable to our lives today as it has been century after century. If you are looking for the spirituality in Judaism, you have found it here.

This superb book outlines Mussar quite clearly, and is marvelous for Jews and non-Jews alike (I am an Episcopalian). Mussar is not a way of doing self-help; it is a program -- developed over centuries -- for deploying attributes (midot) in one's life to become closer to God and to fellow humans. It gives a truly eye-opening new way of seeing our issues, others' issues, society's issues. The audio is also wonderful; I toggle back and forth between it and the book.

So glad I found this book! It's exactly what everyone could use in their life--learning how to be compassionate, a better human being. Excellent for self-study for all spiritual beliefs and religions.

It's a book on mp3 cd so it's playability is limited to a computer or compatable dvd player. For the price I would have liked to be able to listen to it in my car.

The book will change your life. It is not like the modern day self-help genre.
